 American Red Cross Disaster Action Teams Respond to
Multi-Unit Apartment Fire and House Fire
St. Louis Area Chapter provides emergency shelter, food and clothing to victims
St. Louis, Monday, June 9, 2008 – The American Red Cross St. Louis Area Chapter dispatched a Disaster Action Team to an eight-unit apartment fire in the 7600 block of Hazelcrest in Hazelwood early Sunday morning. A total of eight families were affected, including 12 adults and three children. Another Red Cross Disaster Action Team was dispatched to a house fire in the 2800 block of Rutger in St. Louis yesterday afternoon. One family involving two adults, two grown children and one younger child was affected in this incident. In both cases, the St. Louis Area Chapter is meeting the families’ immediate emergency needs with shelter, food and clothing.
