In St. Louis, the Red Cross and the International Institute have an ongoing partnership of outreach to the local international community. Through this partnership, the Red Cross has coordinated two visits by the International Committee on Missing Persons (ICMP) to St. Louis. During their visits, the ICMP met with individuals from the local Bosnian community in an ongoing effort to identify individuals killed in the former Yugoslavia during the armed conflict in the 1990’s. To accomplish this, they focused on background information obtained from family members, including DNA through pin-pricks.
